Just What The Heck is 5G Anyway?

June 21, 2016

Look, 5G seems to be on everyone's mind these days. It's the next logical step for our networks sure, but that doesn't mean it has been any easier to define.

PC Mag takes this problem to task, putting 5G in a nutshell:

1. 5G is the fifth generation of wireless technology. We've come a long way from analog technology to digital networks pulling gigabit level speeds

2. 5G is aiming for speed and efficiency. There is a possibility for 5G technology to integrate seamlessly with Wi-Fi as well.

3. With greater capacities, 5G may be the linchpin for bringing the ever-elusive "Internet of Things" into practice. 5G's lower latencies can help different objects and assets to communicate with one another.

And that's just the tip of the iceberg. Learn more about what 5G means to cellular networks and you by clicking here.
